THE STORY: Nora is a young actress with a promising future, the two pillars of her life: her grandmother Magüi and her mother Cecilia had great careers in entertainment. But Nora discovers that her mother keeps a secret that has marked her for life.

THE SCORE: �The music of Alguien que cuide de mí is a delicate score that accompanies us in discovering what was never told, it reflects an intimate world never shared before. In this soundtrack the piano plays a leading role, masterfully and delicately played by the great Iñaki Salvador. A music written for string orchestra and woodwinds, is sometimes a romantic music longing for past times with hurtful string sections. The central theme of the soundtrack belongs to Cecilia, a resolute and melancholic piece that captures the independent spirit of Cecilia while also speaking to the undercurrent of sadness of her story. Secondary themes include a colourful identity for Nora through a sweet flute melody revealing her innocence of childhood. Connected to the rawness of abandonment the score proposes orchestral pieces with long pizzicato sections and a distressing cello solo. In the search for a wonderful horizon full of light the score proposes delicate clarinet and bassoon melodies together with a colourful and vibrant orchestra.

The voice of Nikki García in �Alma mía� accompanies us on a solitary and open hearted journey in the search for a companion soul. A sometimes warm and throbbing score that looks inward and comforts restless spirits.� � Paula Olaz

THE COMPOSER: Paula Olaz was born in Pamplona in 1989 and grew up with a clear interest in music. At the age of 19 she moved to Amsterdam, her first European life experience that brought her to different countries such as France, Germany, and Switzerland. She studied a Master�s in Scoring for Film, TV and Video games at Berklee College of Music, and has been working as a GA in the Valencia Berklee Campus Tech Lab. She currently lives in San Sebastián working as a composer and teacher. Her score for Nora (co-composed with Pascal Gaigne) and La Cima have been released by MovieScore Media.

THE STORY: Provence, 1847. The son of a wealthy landowner in the south of France, Jean-Baptiste, loses his mother in a tragic accident. His truculent father takes a harlot he met a few months earlier as his new bride. Soon after, Jean-Baptiste is falsely accused by his �stepmother� of trying to take advantage of her. Jean-Baptiste�s only solution is to live with Blanche, his mother�s sister, in the mountains. When he meets Lila, the daughter of a couple of healers and water diviners, it is love at first sight. But Jean-Baptiste�s happiness is overrun in the tumult of Provence�s rebellion against Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte�s coup d�état.

THE SCORE: �For this new drama series set in a historical context, I began composing very early in the process, even before the shooting commenced. I sent Eleonore Faucher, the director, several musical proposals for the main title and character themes. She emphasized the need for a romantic, lyrical, and classical touch regarding the main title. Above all, it should incorporate a dramatic theme that drives the story. In the score, I employed numerous leitmotifs to reflect the dramatic evolution of the various characters, transitioning from romantic cues to intense, emotional moments.� � Cyrille Aufort

THE COMPOSER: Cyrille Aufort started composing music for the theatre, short films and animation films before working extensively in the cinema. While working as an orchestrator for Alexandre Desplat, Aufort�s first major composing credit was Vincenzo Natali�s DNA-based sci-fi horror Splice, starring Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley. In 2012, Aufort and Gabriel Yared co-composed the score for A Royal Affair, the historical drama starring Alicia Vikander and Mads Mikkelsen. His more recent credits include Yann Gozlan�s A Perfect Man, Avi Nesher�s Past Life as well as the new Arctic-themed documentaries of Luc Jacquet: The Ice and the Sky and March of the Penguins 2: The Next Step, which won the Award for Best Original Music Emmy in the Mini Series, Film or Special category and a Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Original Documentary Music. His latest releases with the label is the documentary Nepal and the television movie La maladroite.

THE STORY: In a small village in Leon, Spain, María José (Macarena Gomez) prepares to end her life after failing to get over the suicide of her bullied son years before. Everything changes when she receives a visit from Lucía, a strange little girl who could be connected to a local legend about stopping an impending apocalypse. With the enigmatic girl by her side, María José faces the corrupt community, overloaded with sadistic secrets and immoral lies.

THE SCORE: �I started composing the music for the film months before shooting began. I love to work on different ideas by simply talking to the director or reading the script. From the beginning we wanted a very narrative soundtrack both melodically and instrumentally. Associating different melodies and instruments for different characters or situations, and depending on how the character lived the situation, the music varied. So there�s a story arc from the beginning of the movie to the end. My intention was to write a very emotional soundtrack, so that the viewer could deeply connect with the characters, and in this way, the music would help the viewer experience the film at its maximum emotional expression.� � Joan Vilà

THE COMPOSER: Born in Barcelona, Joan has been active in the film music scene since 2014. He is known for his work on the feature films Y todos arderán, Quién eres, Blue Rai, Capa Negra, L�amant del silenci, Verano Rojo and Desmuntant Leonardo and more than 30 short films. He is a Terror Molins International Horror Film Festival winner for Y todos arderán, Hollywood Music in Media Award Winner for Quién eres (released by Movie Score Media in 2020) and a Jerry Goldsmith Award Winner for Macarrones con tomate, among other international recognitions.

THE STORY: A ticking clock scenario unfolds as a hijacked 767 airplane faces imminent disaster when its fuel supply dwindles, with just 97 minutes remaining.

THE SCORE: �The creepy terrorists theme which you hear throughout the score is performed on a rather unusual bowed instrument the Yayli Tambur by soloist Evgenios Voulgaris. It�s actually a Turkish instrument so not strictly geographically correct to the location of the bad-guys in this movie, and written in the Ukrainian Dorian scale so quite a mashup � but gives it an exotic other-worldly flavour. The theme for Alex the protagonist (played by Rhys Meyers), which again is woven throughout the score, which you hear mostly on celli is designed to be a hero theme but it plays out in a number of different ways, as his character does!� � Ian Livingstone

THE STORY: August 2020. The lives of three young professionals intersect in the post-pandemic lock-down Ibiza where they will try to overcome their personal tragedies, rediscover themselves and move on.

THE SCORE: �Ibiza Blue is a unique departure from my usual style of composing epic orchestral scores, as it delves into the realm of drama and emotion with the subtlety of the piano. The intimate piano themes in the soundtrack capture the essence of the story, ranging from melancholy to love and deep pain. The inclusion of smooth strings ambiences further enhances the maritime mood surrounding the narrative. Among these tender piano themes, there is an epic theme that serves as a contrast, utilizing a mixture of epic strings, electronic pads, drones, and drums. This particular theme builds up the climax of the movie, providing powerful emotions. Recording the piano solo parts myself and experiencing the emotions of this soundtrack from a performer perspective have been a deeply stirring experience. The act of recording these piano solos personally has evoked a profound sense of connection and has allowed me to fully immerse myself in the emotional journey of the soundtrack. Shifting from grand orchestral compositions to the delicate nuances of the piano has been a beautiful and enriching endeavour.� � Marc Timón

THE COMPOSER: Born in Castelló d�Empúries in 1980, Spanish composer Marc Timón Barceló had shown great talent and creativity at an early age. He first graduated in journalism before getting his degree in composition from the prestigious ESMUC. Keeping a versatile career, Timón premiered a piano concerto as well as songs for voices and orchestra. His scores for the animated adventure The Little Wizard (2013), El arbol sin sombra (The Shadowless Tree, 2013), the gladiator show Coliseum: Game of Rome (2014) and San Mao: The Desert Bride (2020) have all been released by MovieScore Media.
