Profumo di donna is a 1974 film, directed by Dino Risi,
based on the novel Il buio e il miele of Giovanni Arpino.
Presented in competition at the Cannes Film Festival
1975, Vittorio Gassman earned the award for Best Actor.
The film was also nominated for Best Foreign Language
Film and Best Adapted Screenplay.
In 1992 it was made a remake of the film, Scent of a
Woman, starring Al Pacino and Chris O'Donnell. A
delicate and charming soundtrack composed by maestro
Armando Trovaioli who has worked among others with
directors such as Vittorio de Sica, Marco Vicario, Dino
Risi, Luigi Magni and Ettore Scola, which has scored
almost the entire filmography.
