EXTREMELY LIMITED 1000 PRESSING WORLDWIDE RELEASE.
One of Maurice Jarre’s most loved scores of the 80s, the composer’s lushly romantic score from The Bride is finally available on CD for the first time. The 1985 film starred Sting and Jennifer Beals and inspired one of Jarre’s most memorable scores. Recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, this budget-priced super limited edition won’t last long.
The Bride is a loose remake of the 1935 horror classic The Bride of Frankenstein, marching to the beat of eighties excess. Sting plays the Colin Clive part, an obsessive scientist who wants to create a bride for his stitched-together creature Clancy Brown. A few lightning bolts and unwrapped bandages later, out pops Jennifer Beals. Sting is so entranced by his synthetic sweetie that he claims her for himself, much to Brown's dismay. Destroying the lab and escaping into the outside world, Brown is befriended by enterprising dwarf Michael Rappoport. Together, monster and dwarf become top circus attractions, but the fun comes to an end when Rappoport is murdered. Alone and friendless once more, Brown again crosses the path of Jennifer Beals, who finds herself inexplicably attracted to the big brute.
