Percepto Records proudly presents the release of Vic Mizzy's most requested score -- THE GHOST AND MR. CHICKEN, released on CD for the first time!

The success of the film was due in no small part to composer Mizzy, who used Knott's knee-jerk antics to create this spooky, unforgettable comedic score that later became universally known as the "Don Knotts Sound" and accompanied four more comic gems -- THE RELUCTANT ASTRONAUT (also coming from Percepto), THE SHAKIEST GUN IN THE WEST, HOW TO FRAME A FIGG and THE LOVE GOD?.

This deluxe limited edition of 3,000 copies is one of Percepto's most lavish to date and includes the complete original score digitally remastered from the composer's own private masters and includes Mizzy's classic self-played rendition of "The Haunted Organ," plus rare source cues.

This package also includes a lavish, full-color 40-page booklet documenting the complete history of the film's production, including interviews with key members of the cast and crew, dozens of rare, behind-the-scenes photos, poster, lobby card and pressbook art from all over the world, and Mizzy's own mirthful memories on the creation of his score.

Luther Heggs (Don Knotts) is a typesetter at a newspaper who longs for a chance to be a reporter. Editor Beckett (Dick Sargent) gives Luther his big break and assigns him to spend the night in a house generally considered to be haunted. The situation allows a broad canvas for Knotts to react to sight gags with the special brand of eye-popping nervousness that made him a star. Former Playboy Bunny Joan Staley plays the pretty girlfriend of star reporter Ollie Skip Homeier. Also stars Reta Shaw, Ellen Corby and Sandra Gould (the second Gladys Kravitz on "Bewitched.") 1966
