Composed and conducted by Vic Mizzy.
Percepto follows up the release of Vic Mizzy's THE GHOST AND MR. CHICKEN with his out-of-this-world score for THE RELUCTANT ASTRONAUT, released on CD for the first time!
In 1967, comedian Don Knotts scored another big-screen success with this hilarious comedy about a smalltown janitor whose fear of heights leads him to man a space capsule into outer space! The film also featured a first-rate supporting cast, including Leslie Nielson and Arthur O'Connell.
Like THE GHOST AND MR. CHICKEN, Mizzy delivered a another unique, toe-tapping score to accentuate Knott's frantic antics, including a dizzying 10-minute orchestral workout to accompany Knotts' harrowing climactic flight into space.
This deluxe limited edition includes the complete original score digitally remastered from the composer's own private masters and includes rare source cues.
This package also includes a lavish, full-color booklet documenting the complete history of the film's production, including interviews, dozens of rare, behind-the-scenes photos and Mizzy's own merry memories on the creation of his score.

SYNOPSIS - Roy Fleming (Don Knotts) is signed on to the space program at NASA by his father Buck (Arthur O'Connell), a gung-ho former World War I vet who is trying to make something out of his son. Roy becomes a janitor who is afraid of heights and mistaken for an astronaut through a series of comedic mishaps. (Jesse White) plays Roy's boss Donelli, with (Leslie Nielsen) as space hero Major Gifford. Knotts uses his patented brand of nervousness to perfection in this lighthearted situation comedy. 1967
