BSX Records presents the original music composed for the Big Finish Audio dramas based on the internationally acclaimed 1970s television series SPACE: 1999. Forty-two years after it first premiered, Big Finish launched a reimagining of the premiere episode, "Breakaway," and it became an instant hit. Six additional episodes, spread across two boxed sets, followed immediately with the original music of Joe Kraemer. This album features his score, bookended with exclusive, brand-new arrangements of the classic TV themes composed by Barry Gray and Derek Wadsworth. Joe Kraemer wrote his first film score in 1986 when, at the age of 15, he was acting in an independent feature for director Scott Storm. Since then, he has composed music for over 100 feature films, documentaries, television episodes and movies. He is perhaps best known for his award-winning score to MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE -- ROGUE NATION (2015 Action Score of the Year, IFMCA), as well as JACK REACHER. Other notable works include THE MAN WHO KILLED HITLER AND THEN THE BIGFOOT, plus the documentary about the films of director Larry Cohen, KING COHEN. SPACE: 1999 is just one of his numerous projects with Big Finish Audio. A self-admitted fan of DOCTOR WHO, he persuaded writer Andrew Cartmel to set up an introduction, which led to an association that, to date, has included music for the DOCTOR WHO spin-offs ROSE TYLER, MISSY, ROBOTS, and THE PATERNOSTER GANG. Other series have included the original psychological thriller TRANSFERENCE, three THUNDERBIRDS adventures, and FIRST ACTION BUREAU, also created by Gerry Anderson. The illustrated booklet contains an interview with the composer by David Hirsch, co-author of the books TO EVERYTHING THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN~THE LOST UNIVERSE OF SPACE: 1999 and MAYBE THERE~THE LOST STORIES OF SPACE: 1999.
